Tutoring
If you experience difficulty in any of your courses, you may request tutoring in the Academic Support Office in room 128 or contact Ben Morrison at 440.834.3726 or contact him by e-mail.  There is no charge for tutoring, and you may schedule a regular weekly appointment or on an "as needed" basis.

Testing

• COMPASS (computer-assisted basic skills assessment)
• CLEP (College Level Examination Program)
• Make-up tests for your courses
• CBE (Credit by Exam)

What Does COMPASS include?
The computerized assessment is divided into three sections: Reading, writing and mathematics. In addition, some students may be asked to complete a writing sample.

The directions for moving through each assessment are easy to follow even if you have not used a computer before.

What if the assessment reveals a need to improve basic skills in some area?
If COMPASS assessment shows a need for specific coursework, students will be required to complete successfully those designated courses. The regional campuses offer several courses designed to improve academic skills. All courses receive a letter grade and are used to compute a student's grade point average. Coursework connections available to students who are in need of academic support include:

• College Writing I - Stretch (ENG 11002)
• Developmental Mathematics (MATH 10004)
• Introduction to College Math (MATH 10005)
• Reading Strategies for College Success (US 10003)
• Study Strategies for College Success (US 10006)

Advising
Meeting with an academic adviser is essential to planning your college career. Call for an appointment. Advising is also available for

• Referrals for personal counseling
• Referrals for diagnostic testing
