Admissions Overview

If you’re interested in attending Kent State Geauga, you will need to submit an application for admission along with a $30 non-refundable application fee. You may request an application be sent by mail by calling the Geauga Campus at 440.834.4187 or Twinsburg Center at 330.487.0574. You may also complete your application online.

Depending on your student status, you may also need to submit high school transcripts, college transcripts, ACT/SAT scores and/or other materials. All application materials become the property of Kent State University and are not returnable or transferable. Please look under your student status to determine which application materials you must submit.

1: Applying for Admission

Your student type or status (i.e. new freshman, transfer, etc.) will determine which application materials you must submit. Whether you are applying to enroll at the KSU Geauga Campus or Twinsburg Center, prospective students need to submit all application materials to:

Once we receive your application, our office will send you a letter confirming receipt of your application.


2: Placement Testing

Next you will need to take the COMPASS test, which is a placement test, at either the Geauga Campus or Twinsburg Center.  To set up placement testing, please call either the Geauga Campus at 440-834-4187 or the Twinsburg Center at 330-487-0574.  The COMPASS test will assess your skills in reading, writing, and math to assure that you begin in the proper course in each of the basic skill areas.

3: Registration

After you take the COMPASS test, you can then sit down with an academic advisor or counselor to schedule classes.

Note: Although it’s not required for admission to the University, all students are strongly encouraged to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Submitting this one form will get you considered for federal and state grants and student loans. Students applying for campus-based scholarships are required to submit the FAFSA as well. FAFSA forms are available in the main office or by calling 440-834-3737. Click here to complete the FAFSA online and you will be transferred to the Federal Student Aid web site.
