Admissions for Transient Students

Students pursuing a degree at another college or university may attend Kent State as a transient student. Such students normally enroll for one semester, taking courses to be transferred back to their "home" institution.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
To be eligible for admission, a transient applicant must be in good standing and possess a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0 (on a 4.0 scale).

HOW TO APPLY
The application process for a transient student is a simple one:

  • APPLY ONLINE OR CLICK HERE to download/print a transient application.

  • CLICK HERE to print the Undergraduate Transient Certification of Good Standing form which is required for admission. Please have an official from your current institution sign the front of the application to verify that you are in good academic standing.

  • A $10 transient student fee is required.

  • Transient admission is valid for only one semester. If you wish to continue beyond one semester as a transient student, you will need to reapply through the Admissions Office.

  • Once your transient application is approved, you must formally register for classes.
