Transfer Student Admission

A transfer student is one who has enrolled in any college, university, technical or proprietary school since graduating from high school, but who has not completed a baccalaureate degree.

Transfer Student Admission Requirements

1.  Fill out an online application or call 440-834-4187 (Geauga) or 330-487-0574 (Twinsburg) to request a paper application.
2. Pay the $30 non-refundable application fee.
3.
Have transcripts from all schools attended after high school (even if you do not think the credits will transfer) sent to: Kent State University at Geauga, Admissions, 14111 Claridon-Troy Road, Burton, Ohio 44021.  If you have less than 12 semester hours of college level coursework completed, contact your high school and request that they forward an official copy of your high school transcript to Kent State Geauga.

Although not a requirement, we encourage students to complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/.  This is used to consider your eligibility for all federal financial aid programs (grants and loans).

Make an appointment with an academic advisor to register for classes by calling 440-834-4187 (Burton) or 330-487-0574 (Twinsburg).  Please Note: Transfer students may be required to take the COMPASS Assessment.  These students should meet with an advisor to determine if the COMPASS Assessment is needed.

If you have any questions regarding the admissions process, call 440-834-4187 (Burton), 330-487-0574 (Twinsburg), or e-mail GeaugaAdmissions@kent.edu.
