Regional Academic Center News

Kent State University's Regional Academic Center participated in the "Greatest Art Show on Earth"

Along with the City of Twinsburg, the Parent Mentor Programs of Twinsburg, Nordonia, and Hudson City Schools, and the Summit Board of DD Gift Gallery, Kent State University's Regional Academic Center in Twinsburg sponsored the "Greatest Art Show on Earth" held on April 30, 2011, at the Twinsburg Community Center.  The event provided a showcase for local school students to display their artwork as well as an opportunity for children of all levels of ability to create individual works of art at hands-on stations.  Following the circus theme, participants made a variety of crafts ranging from water bottle cozies to fuzzy bookmarks.  Participants, also, dressed up like a clown after decorating a clown vest and a clown hat complete with face painting and a red nose!

The Regional Academic Center was honored to be part of the event where the focus is on the ability of children to create and not on the disability.  Adaptive art supplies and a couple of additional hands let all who came explore their creative side.
